Happy Saturday Friends! I have been working non-stop lately to bring you lots of new projects! Today I will share one of my favorites! My apologies in advance for the lack of photos, I got so into the transformation I forgot to stop and capture the process. Read More This cute wood bench was found in the back of a 1-800-GOT-JUNK truck. I asked the driver if I could have it and he happily pulled it off for me! It looked liked it had been in a garage for a few years and was covered in dirt, dust and spider webs. After a good cleaning I removed and separated the legs and tension bars. Then I gave them a light sanding and put the base back together and reattached it to the seat with wood glue and fresh wood screws. Now that the bench is sturdy I can get started on making it pop! I added a coat of tinted primer and two coats of Benjamin Moore Paint in Red and I finished the piece off with two coats of Glossy Minwax Polycrylic. Sanding between each coat and using a high quality brush makes for a beautiful and smooth finish. This painted bench adds personality to any room. I can envision it as a pop of color in an entryway, as seating for a kitchen table or topped with some fun throw pillows so you can relax on a porch or a sunroom. A diverse piece of painted furniture that can fit into any room in your colorfully chic life!
