Hello! I hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend! I am back in San Francisco with some new inspiration, thank you Seattle! I pulled this nightstand out of storage this morning and I am so excited to turn it into a beautiful piece! I don't want to ruin the surprise but I'll give you a hit as to what I have in store for this facelift... glossy white, a touch of gold, and remove a piece or two! S

We have arrived in Seattle, picked up the rental car and have traveled north of the city to the town of Bellingham. The clouds have cleared and the sun is shining through the windows of our weekend rental. Lighting is so important in creating atmosphere and nothing beats natural light, but well placed lamps are key for those typical grey San Francisco and Seattle days. Here are a few lamps currently available at the shop. Check back for more Seattle adventures and finds!
Happy Throwback Thursday! Let's take a look at the shops transformation from dark and dingy grey to clean and bright white. The first night was a fun filled evening of spackling, sanding and prepping the walls. The next night was a late and long one but the first coat of paint was done. The next day we are caffeinated and ready for coat number two, not realizing at the time that we would need a third coat to really cover the obnoxious grey. Snowbird our neighborhood coffee shop was a big help in keeping the energy up, as well as our wireless speaker. I love to paint and Dan is good at it so this was more of a fun hang out together activity than work. The walls were finished and we were onto the next project...can you guess? The ugly red outlets!
Once home I gave them a light scuff and quiet a few coats of glossy white paint. To really make them shine I added a couple coats of clear gloss and added a felt to the bottom to protect them and any surface they may land on. Owls are wise, beautiful and powerful creatures. A bird of prey and a symbol of wisdom. I have always been drawn towards them and when I saw this set at the Alameda Point Antique Faire I had to take them home and bring new life into their cute little faces! I currently have two sets available for purchase, $75/set
This olive green crushed velvet upholstered seat arm chair screamed dated and HELP ME! So I brought it home and dove right into striping it down. It was a chair with good bones that had been given up on and I was excited to give it a second chance at being a beautiful addition to a wonderful home. After removing the olive upholstery I began flipping through my stacks of fabrics for inspiration. I knew I wanted to paint the piece glossy white to showcase the details on the front legs and that the seat should be something bright to keep it from being too traditional.
This dusty forgotten about chair went from an old dated piece with good bones to being transformed into a Colorfully Chic modern arm chair! This chair is stilling looking for the previously stated wonderful home! Today delightful designs is celebrating its one month anniversary! Wahoo! I thought it was a good day to kick-off a blog and to show some of the behind the scenes blood, sweat and tears that went into making a dream become a reality. First off I would like to thank everyone who contributed to my Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign, your support helped me get this life changing set of keys! Check out the before....I've got to say it was in pretty good shape but oh boy those dated ceiling tiles had to go! So down they came. The drop ceiling was covering a beautiful tall ceiling with amazing charm, unfortunately it had been let go and past the point of repair for this first time entrepreneur budget.
